Leatherbacks, and all sea turtles, struggle to survive during trans-ocean journeys as they navigate a gauntlet of deadly industrial fisheries that threaten to capture and entangle them. For decades, longline and gillnet fisheries have delivered seafood to the diner tables of billions of people, but most consumers have no idea that millions of innocent sea turtles, marine mammals, and seabirds are also killed in the process.
