The natural world has always fascinated and inspired Charlie Startin. In high school Charlie’s passion to understand and protect these interconnected ecological systems became more clear. In college she studied Environmental Science and got the opportunity to work on several restoration projects doing vegetation monitoring. Her final-year thesis looked at the effect of light pollution on hummingbird feeding behavior. Charlie is interested in how humans are impacting natural habitats and how we can work to restore ecosystems so they can thrive. Charlie is very excited to be an intern at SPAWN so that she can continue learning and actively participate in habitat restoration.
