Jim Coda

Jim Coda is a retired attorney who spends much of his time photographing wildlife, especially in the ranching area of Point Reyes National Seashore.  Before he retired, he worked for 35 years as an attorney in the federal government.  He started his career in the Department of the Interior in Washington, D.C., handling legal matters for BLM involving its management of the public lands.

He later worked in Interior’s San Francisco legal office where he handled mostly National Park Service, Western Region, legal matters.  He ended his career as an Assistant U.S. Attorney, Northern District of California, handling cases primarily involving challenges to the way federal agencies in California managed lands and resources under laws such as the National Environmental Policy Act.
