Ken Bouley is originally from Rhode Island, and transplanted himself to California after graduating from Bryant University, with a B.S. in Business Administration. For three decades, he was a software developer, executive, and architect, and holds several US patents from his software days. Ken was always interested in the environment and brought his career in line with his values by joining TIRN as Executive Director, in 2024. He has come to see the value of an advocacy toolbox including public outreach, grassroots restoration, science, activism, political pressure and, where appropriate, litigation. As David Brower said, “Politicians are like weathervanes, and it’s our job to make the wind blow.”

He and his wife, Kelli Petersen, live in Inverness, California. In his spare time, Ken enjoys woodworking, travel, and wildlife photography.
