Dr. Rick Lanman
Dr. Rick Lanman is a physician and scientist who has published over 130 peer-reviewed scientific publications in ecology and medicine. His historical ecology research is rewriting our understanding of California’s past fauna and flora, informing rewilding strategies with a focus on native species that mitigate wildfires and/or enhance carbon sequestration. Founder of the Institute for Historical Ecology, his work has covered California’s beaver, salmon, and elk, as well as coast redwoods.
