Ashley Murray works at SPAWN as the Salmonid Monitoring Intern and is currently pursuing a B.S. in Environmental Science. As a student at SUNY Plattsburgh, she worked and served as a committee member for the Plattsburgh Student Compost Coalition. Outside of school she has worked for The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, and also spent a year volunteering for Eastern Connecticut Conservation District and The Last Green Valley. Her background includes water quality monitoring, electrofishing for biodiversity assessments, cyanobacterial algae bloom research, stream and river-based temperature logging, macroinvertebrate river bioassessments, data collection/interpretation, and processing of samples in a government lab. In her free time, Ashley loves to travel, ski, hike, slackline, camp, make music, and cook.
