Elena Nalesso (2015)

Elena Nalesso recently graduated from the Centro de Investigación Científica y de Educación Superior de Ensenada (CICESE) in Baja California, México with a master’s degree in Marine Ecology. Her thesis studied the movements of hammerhead sharks in Cocos Island with acoustic telemetry data. In her time as a student she participated in several projects with the Laboratory of Fisheries Ecology of CICESE, mainly working with whale sharks and white sharks.

Elena is currently interning with Turtle Island under the supervision of Dr. Alex Hearn and is in the process of writing and publishing a scientific article with the results of her thesis.
