Preston Brown is a watershed biologist and Director of Conservation with Turtle Island Restoration Network’s Salmon Protection And Watershed Network (SPAWN) where his work is focused on developing and facilitating stream restoration projects and administrating salmonid population monitoring programs. He holds a B.S. in Natural Resources Management from Colorado State University. He has technical experience in the field of restoration ecology and has assisted with restoration and habitat monitoring at locations including federal Superfund gold mines, oil and gas well pads, mountain wetlands, post-fire western conifer forests, and alluvial streams.

Before working for Turtle Island, Preston worked as an ecologist with the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District where his work focused on vegetation management, ranchland restoration, and habitat mapping. Preston enjoys bushwhacking through river floodplains, fly fishing, and being politically active.
