Join us at Naked Iguana Brewery for a sign making event to prepare for the Endangered Species Act Rally Saturday. We will be in the indoor section of the brewery and will have cardboard and paint supplies, all you need to bring is a friend!

**On August 15th 10am-11am we will gather at 2107 Seawall in Galveston by the Balinese Room Pier marker for the ESA Rally with the signs made during the workshop! The Day of Action on the 15th is in direct response to the ESA exemption on March 31st that stripped protections of endangered species in the Gulf. This rally and others being held along the Gulf coast will highlight the current threats and demonstrate that coastal communities care about our endangered species in the Gulf. Bring out your best sea turtle signs and rice whale signs and come out to use your voice for those that can’t!

So far with the help of many wonderful volunteers, SPAWN and the Tomales Bay Foundation have installed 4,400 locally native plants in the new wetland enhancement project at Chicken Ranch Beach. Come join us to help care for the plants by weeding and watering while we await our opportunity to complete the planting.

The remaining 3,200 wetland plants are to be installed in areas that are now under water. As the area dries out with the season, we will be able to resume planting. Once the planting is complete we as a community will have installed 7,600 native plants.

Weeding experience is helpful but not required. We will assist you in identifying target weeds, and are happy to share plant knowledge.

The Lagunitas Creek watershed is one of the most important habitats left for critically endangered Central California Coast (CCC) Coho salmon.

The Marine Debris Survey event is a NOAA program adopted by Turtle Island Restoration Network. We have registered a 100 meter plot of beach at East Beach that we will be cleaning and recording the type of trash collected. Think beach cleanup but with more detailed procedures.

• Surveys will be the 1st Saturday of every month.
• Anyone and everyone is welcome (there is a distance of walking involved, minimum of 100ft).

Join Turtle Island Restoration Network for our Gulf Coast Community Chat- 3rd TIRN Quarterly Community Meeting Tuesday September 22nd, 2026 from 5:30pm-7:30pm CT!

Turtle Island Restoration Network and Community Partners from CEER, Vision Galveston, and Air Alliance are teaming up for a Take Action Workshop for anyone interested in learning how they can use their voice to make a difference.

What to expect:

• Learn how to write and submit public comments for or in opposition of legislation that can impact you!
• Learn how to use Air Alliance- Houston’s Air Mail tool.
• Hear from Vision Galveston as they break down the Galveston Comprehensive Plan.
• Connect with the Coalition for Environment, Equity and Resilience (CEER).
