Our internships ideally foster skill development with a particular area of interest, but require participants to engage in a variety of tasks to support the larger organizational goals. Every intern should leave the experience with a depth of insight into the way a non-profit functions and a diverse skill set in environmental conservation and advocacy. If you don’t see an internship that fits, but your skills align with our work, we encourage you to propose your own internship description with your application.

Residential

-We have 4 spots available in a residence tucked in the redwoods, just 5 miles from our office. The requirements for being a residential intern includes a serious commitment to work full time (40+ hours a week) for a minimum of 6 months. We require a 4 year degree to qualify for this position. This is an UNPAID position but the value of housing calculates to about $900 a month.

Apply for any of the internships we offer and clearly state your interest in a residential position. We will give priority to skills and interests that currently meet our greater organizational needs.

Residential interns start every six months in cohorts. See job description to learn about the start date for a position.

Non-Residential

-We are always open to hosting interns who are able to find their own housing accommodations in the Marin County area. Our non-residential internships can be arranged to accommodate commitments for 1-5 days a week depending on availability. Please submit your resume and cover letter, clearly indicating your non-residential status. This opportunity is open to high school students and above.

Remote

-We have opportunities for remote interns on a case by case basis. Present your skills with your cover letter and resume, including how you see them aligning with our work and we will see if someone has the ability to support you. In the past we have had successful remote interns in the following fields:
