Prefilm reception with Dr. Sylvia Earle

The Sea Turtle Restoration Project presents the first Bay Area screening of our powerful new video Last Journey for the Leatherback? and a chance to meet award-winning director Stan Minasian and renowned – and inspirational – oceanographer Dr. Sylvia Earle at an intimate reception before the showing.

The leatherback sea turtle has survived in the earth’s oceans for 100 million years. But without our help, they could vanish in the next decade. This is an evening that will inspire you to work to change!

Reception will include tasty treats and organic wine, and participants will have a chance to explore a deepsea submarine designed by Dr. Earle to explore the little-known ocean depths.

The reception will take place before the screening at 6 p.m. on Tuesday August 31st, 2004 at the beautiful new Jewish Community Center at Pacific and California Streets in San Francisco. Ticket prices are $60 general ($40 for SPAWN and STRP members) and benefit our Save the Leatherback Campaign.

The public is invited to attend the 8 p.m. public screening only. Tickets are $6 for STRP members and $8 for the general public and will be held at “Will Call” at the event location. Doors open at 7:30
