Olema, CA. The Salmon Protection and Watershed Network (SPAWN) has launched a new partnership with “My Broker Donates”, a Marin-based firm dedicated to providing contributions to nonprofit organizations through real estate transactions and referrals.

My Broker Donates will work with SPAWN supporters who are considering buying or selling property to understand their real estate needs. The firm will connect supporters with caring, qualified, brokers in Marin or any other location where the supporter is based. Supporters are referred to a broker who is a top seller with deep experience and a commitment to supporting non-profits. Each broker commits to donate 15% of his or her commission to SPAWN.

“At SPAWN, we need all the tools we can get to help protect coho salmon and steelhead as well as the watersheds they call home. That’s why we are pleased to partner with My Broker Donates. Each real estate transaction completed will provide a significant donation for the salmon and streams,” said Todd Steiner, SPAWNfounder and director.

SPAWN, the Salmon Protection And Watershed Network works to protect endangered salmon in West Marin’s Lagunitas Watershed and the environment on which we all depend. SPAWN uses a multi-faceted approach to accomplish our mission including grassroots action, habitat restoration, policy development, research and monitoring, citizen training, environmental education, strategic litigation, and collaboration with other organizations, land-owners, and agencies.

My Broker Donates (mybrokerdonates.com) was founded by Jack McLaughlin, who has 30 years of experience in Marin County real estate. The idea of tapping real estate commissions to benefit the community crystallized for him when he donated part of his fee back to EAH Housing after selling some properties for the non-profit. His long experience in the area aids in finding exactly the right real estate professional for each transaction.
