Kemp’s ridleys that nest and swim along the Texas and Mexico Coasts and throughout the Gulf of Mexico are in the early stages of recovery as a result of decades of work to achieve strong protections. The no-shrimping zone along the Texas coast that STRP and HEART achieved 10 years ago was critical to the increase of nests there.
