Chicken Ranch Beach Volunteer Day

The work at the Chicken Ranch Beach wetland enhancement project is on-going.  Right now we have a lush cover of meadow barley (Hordeum bracyantherum) beginning to flower in the moist areas. The meadow barley, which is a native perennial bunch grass, should do well going forward.

Now that the grasses on site are flowering we can see more clearly which to pull and which to encourage. There is also watering to be done!
