International Plastic Pellet Count Day | May 2
Saturday, May 2 @ 11:30 am - 12:30 pm CDT

You’re invited to join Turtle Island Restoration Network in participating in the International Plastic Pellet Count on Saturday, May 2nd, 2026.
When: May 2nd 2026 @ 11:30am
Where: Murdochs, 2215 Seawall Blvd, Galveston, TX.
Plastic pellets, also known as nurdles, are the raw material used to make many single-use plastic products like water bottles, grocery bags and food containers. Unfortunately, these microplastics are often spilled, leaked or dumped into the environment, especially our waterways, during manufacturing and transport. As a result, they frequently wash up on riverbanks, lakeshores and beaches.
The International Plastic Pellet Count is a day of action to address plastic pollution, where volunteers search local waterways for plastic pellets. By participating in this event, we can shine a spotlight on this issue and help to keep our local waterways free of plastic pollution. Join us in Galveston, TX or conduct your own!
