Creekwalk Tours | January 11
January 11, 2025 @ 10:00 am - 2:30 pm
This December and January, the Bay Area community has the chance to experience one of Marin County’s most magnificent natural phenomenons: the local population of endangered coho salmon returning from the ocean to spawn in their natal waters. For more than 20 years, SPAWN has led Creekwalk Tours that explore the Lagunitas Creek Watershed – home to the largest remaining run of wild Central California Coast Coho – where people can witness endangered coho salmon at the peak of their sapwnign season.
WHO: Join Salmon Protection and Watershed Network (SPAWN), in partnership with Samuel P. Taylor State Park.
WHAT: Join us for a leisurely-guided tour in the diverse Lagunitas Watershed. Led by SPAWN-trained naturalists, we’ll look for endangered coho salmon during their spawning season, learn about native plants and animals, discover the history of the watershed, and anything encountered along the way!

This tour is meant for all ages and family friendly. Each tour will be capped at 15 attendees to allow the best experience for each individual and to not cause any greater disturbance to wildlife as we look for spawning salmon. Private tours are also available, please email Ayano Hayes (ahayes@tirn.net) to discuss your group’s needs or have any questions.
Tickets this year are provided on a sliding scale rate to allow the opportunity for anyone to attend a tour and not be limited by funds for this experience. There are a select number of tickets offered at each price, $15-$25 per ticket. Children under the age of 5 years get free admission. We would like this opportunity to be accessible to everyone, so if you don’t have the means right now but want to attend a tour, please email Ayano Hayes (ahayes@tirn.net).
Entry per vehicle into Samuel P. Taylor Park – Main Entrance is not included in the Creekwalk Tour ticket. Entry will be $8 upon arrival. Carpool if possible.
Ticket proceeds go directly to supporting the SPAWN program and restoration efforts. Thank you for your support! More information can be found on our website, https://seaturtles.org/creekwalk/
